What is the reason that the laser cannot start normally when it is used again after it has been left unused for a period of time? What should be done in this case?
If the laser is left unused for a long period of time, the laser may fail to pre-ionise when it is used again. In this case, the laser control circuitry will detect a high backward reflected voltage and a SWR error Laser OK Fault will occur resulting in the laser not starting properly. It is recommended to set the duty cycle of the modulating signal less than 10% and the frequency to less than 25 kHz to avoid triggering the SWR error.
n Laser tube need a certain amount of pre-ionisation time when it start working, is it possible to speed up the pre-ionisation time by intentionally sending a modulating signal?
No, The pre-ionisation of the laser is done by the pre-ionisation circuit inside the laser tube. The pre-ionisation circuitry starts to work as soon as the laser is energised. An artificial modulation signal cannot help the laser to complete the pre-ionisation state.
Is it necessary to perform regular cleaning for laser's fan and heat sink of the tube?
Yes, after the laser fan has been working for a certain period of time, due to the dust in the environment adheres to the laser fan and heat sink, it will greatly affect the cooling effect of the laser, which will lead to the heat of the laser cannot be effectively conducted, causing irreparable failure of the laser.
What happens when the laser is protected from overheating ,and how should it be handled?
If the laser has overheating protection, the laser will stop working. When such situation occurs, the user shall do the followings:
Switch off the power supply of the laser.
Check the water-cooled laser water cooler working condition is normal.
(1)Check the air-cooled laser fan is working properly.
(2)Check whether the air-cooled laser fan and heat sink need to be cleaned.
(3)Check whether the air-cooled laser peripheral heat dissipation space is sufficient.
After checking the above possible faults, the user should wait for the laser temperature to cool down to the required range before switching on the laser.
After the laser is powered up, why can't the control terminal pin of the laser be in a suspended or high resistance state?
When the laser is powered up, it will enter the working state. If the control pin of the laser is in a suspended or high resistance state, the level on the pin is in an unknown state, which may lead to the following situations:
(1)A large number of noise signals on the pin, which will damage the laser.
(2)If there is an unknown high level, the laser may accidentally emit light, posing a direct threat to personnel safety.
Can pin 7 of the laser control terminal pins, control Enable used as a signal modulation terminal to modulate the light coming out of the laser?
No. Pin 7 is the control enable terminal of the laser, too high switching frequency will cause the laser to malfunction, the switching frequency of the signal of this pin should be less than 200Hz.
What should be noticed during the storage and transport of lasers?
Firstly, the laser must be stored and transported in the process to ensure that the cooling water inside the laser is completely blown dry, and it is recommended that the laser be blown dry with dry nitrogen gas with a purity of 99.95%, otherwise the cooling water inside the laser will lead to irreparable damage to the internal structure of the laser. Secondly, the laser output window must be sealed during storage and transport. Third, the laser in the storage and transport process should be lightly held and placed to avoid the laser received accidental impact. And ensure that the laser's water tube remains unstressed to avoid deformation of the tube.
What are the requirements for the environment of using lasers?
1.The environmental temperature should be maintained at 5 ℃ ~ 40 ℃, when necessary to use air conditioning.
2.Cleanliness of the environment, in the case of the laser without external dust protection equipment, a higher degree of dust will lead to the laser's output window burned.
3.Environmental humidity, the laser is required to be free of condensation.
4. Environmental pH needs to remain neutral.
If the laser output window lens is contaminated, how should it be handled and can it be wiped with a cotton swab?
No. Wiping with a cotton swab will do further damage to the lens. If there are only a few particles attached to the front lens and the lens coating has not yet been burned, try blowing the lens with 99.95% pure nitrogen. While testing the lenses, it is important that the laser power cord be unplugged before proceeding.
If the spot size is already known, how to choose the size of the lens in the light path?
The size of the lens in the external optical path should generally be selected as twice the actual spot size.
What is the reason that the output power at the laser outlet is sufficient, but the power at the processing end is very low?
This situation is generally caused by the presence of high energy loss in the external optical path of the laser. Users should check the following points:
(1). Whether the size of the lenses of the external light path and the size of the aperture of the light passage are large enough.
(2). Whether the quality of the lenses of the external light path is qualified, and the loss of individual lenses should not be higher than 3%.
(3). Whether the lenses of the external light path are polluted or damaged.
(4). Whether the external light path has been correctly collimated.
How to deal with low or unstable energy during the operation of lasers.
When this situation occurs, the user should firstly check the following items:
(1)Measure the DC power supply voltage of the laser with a multimeter to see if it is normally.
(2)Use an oscilloscope to measure the laser DC power supply output, to observe whether there are large fluctuations.
(3)Use an oscilloscope to measure whether the control signal to the laser is normal.
(4)Measure whether the water cooler works normally and the flow rate meets the requirements. Check whether the air-cooled laser cooling fan and heat sink are in normal condition.

There is a sealing label on each laser, please take care to protect this sealing label. If the sealing label is damaged it will prevent the laser from receiving the warranty service.
What are the warranty conditions of the laser source?
If the laser output power index is lower than the company's promised standards during the warranty period, the user can enjoy free warranty service. However, it does not include damage to the laser due to man-made reasons or improper use, meanwhile the sealing label needs to be maintained intact.
